Classic Baby stock an extensive range of quality educational toys, wooden toys and early learning toys for babies and toddlers with the Montessori Philosophy in mind. All of the toys and materials in our range have purpose and are designed to enhance the mental and physical growth of a child. Our toys invite children to explore and experiment which we believe is essential for a lifelong love of learning. Most of the toys in our range are wooden to offer a wider experience to a child through its grain and variety of smells. We stock many award winning brands including: Haba, Brio, Djeco, Melissa and Doug, Wheely Bug, Hess Spielzeug, Seedling, Manhattan Toy and of course our very own range of Montessori Materials that can be found in preschools or under 3 Montessori schools.

Based in Sydney NSW, we are a small Australian company offering a selection of high quality educational and traditional wooden toys.
What we do
Our focus is on the vital and often-overlooked pre-school age group of 0 -3+ years, and all our toys are age-graded to match their developmental milestones.
How we think
At Classic Baby we firmly believe that big and brash is rarely best, and with so many plastic, all-singing, all-dancing toys being consumed, we took a step back to think about what really works for children both educationally and emotionally.
The creativity and inspiration that comes from playing with wooden toys is what inspires truly imaginative play, and as parents as well as retailers, this was immensely important to us.
About our products
Our products are sourced from all over the world, and our search continues to uncover yet more wonderful toys so that we can offer the greatest classics right here in Australia at the best possible prices.
As well as offering classic and traditional toys, we have our own line of Montessori Materials. This range has been developed based on the original materials that Dr Montessori created in the 1920s. These beautiful, high quality educational toys have been carefully designed to allow each child to reach their potential through natural curiosity and exploration.
Why wood?
By choosing to make our toys in wood, we are staying true to Montessori: wood offers wider experience to a child through its grain, variety of smells, differing weights and sounds when tapped. Wood also attaches importance to nature, which in turn connects your child to the world around them.
Caring for the Environment
All of our Montessori Toys are made from environmentally friendly materials. As well as having the toys tested under the Australian/New Zealand toy standards, Classic Baby is part of a global effort to provide products that meet the highest environmental standards. The woods used in our complete range of Montessori toys are sourced from Forest Stewardship Council/Rainforest Alliance Certified forests and are responsibly harvested to benefit communities, wildlife and the environment.
We want to make a mark on the world, but we don't want to harm it.
